Even with the current worldwide financial crisis, famed auction house Christie’s still has faith in the value of a diamond. At the Christie’s Jewel sale in New York on April 22, they will be auctioning a number of luxury diamond items, some estimated at over $1 million. In addition to the diamond items, there will be colored gems and signed jewels including antique, Belle Epoch, art nouveau, retro and contemporary pieces.
The most valuable diamond in the lot is a pear-shaped diamond ring with a weight of 30.02 carats, D color and Internally Flawless clarity, and set in a deep pink diamond band. Christie’s did not publish an estimated value for the diamond, but one is available on request. Other highlights of the sale include a rectangular-cut diamond ring of 32.72 carats, D color with very slight inclusions (VS1 clarity) estimated at $1.4-$1.8 million; and a pear-shaped diamond of 15.05 carats, D color with very, very slight inclusions (VVC2 clarity) by Harry Winston, estimated at $700,000-$1 million.
Colored diamonds, which have fluctuated in and out of style over the past few years, will also be shown. There is a gray/yellow/green “chameleon” briolette-cut diamond pendant necklace of 19.13 carats with an estimated value of $800,000-$1 million. This diamond changes color when it is gently heated or when left in darkness for a period of time. Because of this unusual characteristic, it is called a “chameleon” diamond. The one up for auction on April 22 is the largest to ever be offered.
Among the signed and vintage jewels is an antique ivory and gemstone elephant, carved from a single piece of ivory. Made around 1900, it has chrysoberyl bejeweled eyes, pearl tassels and golden toenails, and comes in a purple velvet carrying case. It is assumed that this piece was made for a member of a very important Indian family, and will probably sell for $80,000 to $120,000.
Counting on the unfaltering value of diamonds and their place as investments, Christie’s believes strongly that these expensive, unique pieces will sell quickly. The auction will certainly bring out a who’s-who in New York City, and from around the world.

La Prairie, a luxury cosmetics company, has released an anti-wrinkle serum that features caviar extract and tiny crystals of diamonds. La Praire claims that its diamond-infused Skin Caviar Crystalline Concentre works to “refirm the skin’s elasticity, reignite its luminosity, refine its texture, replump fine lines and wrinkles and replenish moisture.”
Vickie Kent, vice president for Asia Pacific, says La Prairie has “very few but loyal customers who are making an investment decision. In every life there is a need for a little luxury and pampering care. If you invest in luxury products like handbags and jewelry, why not invest in your skin?”
The caviar extract works in combination with high-performing peptides, an amino acid, stabilized vitamin C, alpha hydroxyl acids and natural plant extract to lend a smoothing effect to the skin. Diffused within the serum are diamonds, mica and quartz crystals, which scatter light and illuminate the skin.
The caviar-and-diamonds serum doesn’t come cheap: $570 for a 30 ml bottle, available at La Prairie counters nationwide.

Diamonds are a big part of a wedding; the engagement ring, wedding ring, and perhaps even the groom’s ring are traditional places for them to make an appearance. But today, diamonds are also cropping up as a classic, elegant gift for everyone in the wedding party.
Think about the many gifts that are exchanged in the days leading up to the wedding and on the big day itself: the bride and groom give each other tokens, the parents of the couple bestow gifts, attendants are thanked with gifts, and the couple receives a pile of presents from well-wishers. Everyone is looking for gift ideas that express the depth of their love and affection, and nothing conveys those emotions quite like a diamond.
The exchange of wedding rings is a highlight of the ceremony. Though the selection of the engagement ring is typically sweated over most, it’s just as important to carefully consider the diamond wedding bands. Diamonds in both the bride’s and groom’s wedding bands are becoming increasingly popular, and it’s easy to see why. Most women enjoy the added flash and sparkle of bands accentuated with diamonds, and even many grooms are drawn to the sophisticated, stylish look of diamond accents.
The specialty of Whiteflash cut diamonds is the cut as a perfect hearts and arrows diamond. Why pay more for a brilliant diamond when you can get the most visually balanced diamond on line for half the price.
All eyes will be on the bride as she walks down the aisle, and she needs special jewelry to mark such a special day. It’s traditional for the groom, the bride’s parents, or both to gift her with a lovely piece of jewelry for the occasion. Whether it’s a pair of exquisite diamond earrings, a diamond tennis bracelet, or a diamond necklace, she’ll treasure the gift not only on her wedding day, but every time she wears it in the years to come.
Diamond jewelry is also a lovely way to thank the people in your wedding party for being part of your big day. Express your gratitude for bridesmaids’ efforts with a gesture such as matching diamond earrings, or show your appreciation for the love and support the mothers of the bride and groom have provided over the years with a diamond pendant for each. These are charming, meaningful ways to recognize the people who’ve helped create the wedding of your dreams.
Whiteflash.com is the ideal place to search for such an important gift. Not only do we provide a huge selection of diamond jewelry, but whiteflash.com also believes in providing a diamond education for its customers. Our huge online library will help you learn about the different shapes, cuts, and characteristics of diamonds so that you can make an informed decision.
Weddings are the perfect occasion to show how much you care. Surprise them with the eternal gift of stunning Whiteflash cut diamonds.
Everyone sweats over purchasing holiday gifts for loved ones, but how many holiday gifts do you really remember? If you’re like most people, the answer is “not many.” But when diamond jewelry is involved, you can bet the woman in your life will remember what you gave her this year. When she sees that little box, she won’t know what’s inside, but she’ll already be smiling. And when she discovers it’s a stunning pair of diamond earrings from Whiteflash.com, it’ll be a very merry holiday indeed.
The great thing about diamond earrings is that unlike many gifts, she can use them every day. Diamond earrings can be dressed up for work or special occasions and dressed down with jeans on the weekend. Every time she puts them on, she’ll think about the thrill she got when she opened them. Try getting that kind of impact from a sweater!
And diamond earrings aren’t just a thoughtful gift for your wife or girlfriend; they’re a meaningful way to express your affection to any important woman in your life. Maybe it’s time for your daughter’s first pair of diamond earrings, or how about thanking your mom for her love and support with a gift that will take her breath away?
When deciding on a pair of earrings, think about her style: Does she like to stand out in a crowd? Or does she prefer timeless pieces that will look as elegant tomorrow as they do today? The key is to find an e-tailer with an extensive collection of diamond earrings so that you can browse many different styles–from studs to hoops to drop earrings.
Many people are hesitant to purchase diamonds as a gift because they’re afraid they’ll make a mistake or don’t feel “qualified.” But Whiteflash.com wants to change that mind-set. With an unparalleled online library of information to give you a diamond education, Whiteflash.com offers easy-to-understand guides that will help you learn about the different cuts, shapes, and characteristic of diamonds. This is an important decision, and we feel strongly that knowledge is power.

Natasha Bedingfield has found her “Soulmate.”
The British singer married California businessman Matthew Robinson in Malibu on Saturday, reports Usmagazine.com.
“Our wedding day was everything we’d hope it would be,” said the 27-year-old bride. “It was simple, beautiful and natural. Free from trappings or formalities, it was more about expressing our love for one another in front of those we hold dearest to us than anything else.”
Bedingfield wore a cream silk Vera Wang dress and H. Stern jewelry while the groom wore Armani. The 30-minute ceremony took place in front of about 150 guests at the Church Estates Vineyards, which hosted Fergie and Josh Duhamel‘s February nuptials.
The newlyweds dated for two years before announcing their engagement in 2008.
